UKCA MARKING - DEADLINE EXTENDED
"The UKCA marking (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that will be used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking pre-Brexit" - gov.uk .
The UKCA marking originally came into effect on 1st January 2021. Since last year, Romark has been fulfilling UKCA labelling requirements for our customers, helping our clients meet the new standards of post-Brexit operations. As of August 24th 2021, the government has extended the deadline for UKCA labelling compliance in order to give businesses more time to prepare, especially in light of the impact from Covid-19.
"Recognising the impact of the pandemic on businesses, the government will extend this deadline to 1 January 2023 to apply UKCA marks for certain products to demonstrate compliance with product safety regulations, rather than 1 January 2022." - gov.ukTo learn more about the UKCA mark and product compliance, click the link below.
The extension is great news for businesses but we are still encouraging our clients to be prepared and apply the UKCA marking to their product labelling as soon as possible. When you're ready, we are here to help smooth the process! If you'd like to get started or simply have any questions, please feel free to get in touch. As labelling experts, we're here if you need us.
